One in every six children experience mental health concerns, which often arise in the early years. But existing programmes struggle to meet the demand of modern families: that’s why we’ve come up with Embers the Dragon.

Embers provides evidence-based mental health and wellbeing support to early years children and their families, in ways they recognise and enjoy.

‘My daughter has always been headstrong, from a young age she wanted to do everything herself and seemed to have enough confidence for two children. But when Covid hit and her school closed it was like she changed overnight. She was either quiet and withdrawn or ripping the house apart.

When we joined the Embers trial I was sceptical about how much it would help but was desperate. She loved the animations, and watched them on repeat but I found the parenting information most useful. The subtle changes I made to how I spoke to her or the type of play we did made a massive difference. She’s still not entirely herself but the big meltdowns have stopped and now I’m enjoying being at home with her’.
